GGRF appreciates your racing for the girls! Here are some ideas to help you make the most of it.
Let us know what and when you are going to race so we can post it on our events page and perhaps connect you with others who may want to join you. Think about creating a team with others in the race who may also want to help you raise funds. Post a note on your local running sites letting people know of your intention and asking if anyone is interested in joining you.
Choose a fundraising goal.
Raise money and awareness. Download our GGRF flyer from the "How You Can Help" page and mail it to others with your request or email it by sending the link and/or the link to our entire website with your request. Ask people to pledge a certain amount (say $1.00) per mile or a flat sum to GGRF. Track your pledges with the pledge sheet or set up an online donation site for free using Google Sites; for an example, see http://davidperez888.googlepages.com/). Another option is to make use of FirstGiving's online fundraising page. And another useful tool is USA Fundraising.com's free thermometer.
Host a Friends of GGRF gathering. Then ask 5 friends to do the same. Talk with everyone you know & just ask!
Send personal emails and letters to everyone you know. See this sample letter for ideas.
Be bold! When people know about the girls, they are grateful for an opportunity to support you and help.
RUN! Or bicycle, or swim, or...you get the idea.
Collect the money and send it in. People can give online by paypal directly to GGRF at (DONATE) or send you their check, made out to Girls Gotta Run Foundation, Inc. Bundle checks as soon as possible and send directly to Girls Gotta Run Foundation, Inc., 3715 Jocelyn St., N.W., WDC 20015.
Questions? Just ask! Contact pat@girlsgottarun.org.
